The significant reduction in customs duties resulting from the common market has suddenly increased the purchase options of French motorists. He can now buy a Ford Taunus, an Opel Kadett or a Fiat 500 at prices substantially identical to those of a Peugeot 404, a Simca 1000, a Citroën 2 CV or a Renault 4. This book presents cars from this decade which left a very strong mark on our history and during which the automobile was a fantastic surge of happiness towards freedom. Passionate about the history of the automobile, Patrice Vergès has worked in around twenty auto titles in more than forty-five years of activity (Échappement, Auto Hebdo, L'Auto Journal, L'Équipe, etc.). He has tested more than 1,600 new cars and several hundred vintage cars, and still publishes his articles, in Youngtimers magazine under his nickname Uncle Pat and on the automotive site poa.tv, to which he has collaborated for around ten years.
